We are a friendly, inclusive and competitive club who cater for rowers of all abilities and ages, both on a competitive and a social rowing level. More information on how to join us can be found here.

  

Aside from our three traditional wooden gigs Royal, Messack and Spurr, we also have two fibreglass training gigs. We are active both on the water and off the water all year round, launching from Loe Beach and holding regular club training sessions in our Gig Shed. The Carrick Roads, being a sheltered body of water, affords us rowing in weather conditions when many other clubs are unable to go out.

 

Founded in 1985, we are proud to be the oldest of the ‘new’ generation of gig clubs and our oldest gig, Royal, not only won the first Scillies World Pilot Gig Championship, but is also part of a very select few gigs that attended every Pilot Gig Rowing World Championship up to the rule change in 2022. We had a very succesful 2022 World Pilot Gig Championships, where our Men's A crew finished 2nd overall and all our other crews finished in the top third of their field. A full report on our excellent 2022 WPGC performance can be found here.
